Let's start with the key point, which we want you to remember, because it's the key to ginseng's potency: it matters how old the ginseng root is and where it's grown, what you're consuming. Why not, we'll explain in detail in a moment.

But first, look at the striking differencebetween a 6-year-old plant, a 4-year-old plant, a 2-year-old plant and a 1-year-old plant! If it is a 4-6 year old plant, it will be highlighted on the box!

6 year old, 4 year old and 1-2 year old ginseng roots

Panax ginseng reaches its maximum active ingredient by the age of 6

We have known for thousands of years that certain plants can affect the processes in our body, restore what is not working well or reduce symptoms.

Modern medicines also contain a large number of extracts of these plants, but for those who are not so keen on this artificial line, natural preparations are also available.

The main advantage of herbal, natural preparations over pharmaceuticals is that they are much less stressful for the body. Artificially produced medicines contain a huge variety of substances, so there is a much greater chance of hypersensitivity, allergic reactions and various side effects. Of course, it is not impossible to have an allergic reaction to the active ingredient in a medicinal plant, but this is much less common - it is the additives in the medicine that are the most likely to cause problems.

One of these very useful herbs is panax ginseng, which is extremely versatile and can help with a wide range of problems.

But what is ginseng?

Ginseng is a plant native to Asia that contains a lot of active ingredients - this is why it can be effective in many areas.

Korean ginseng for health

Ginseng, or panax, is a genus in the umbelliferae order and the araliaceae family. It is a slow-growing perennial plant whose roots have been used in the Far East for centuries. It has a place in the modern world, where ginseng, grown in the right place, has many positive effects on the human body.

Of course, it makes a difference what kind of ginseng you use. There are several varieties of the plant, although many people do not know this.

Ginseng is an adaptogenic herb

Adaptogen means:

The term "adaptogen" refers to natural substances, usually herbs or plant extracts, that help the body adapt to stress and help maintain the body's balance. Adaptogens improve the body's ability to cope with stress without causing excessive stimulation or adverse effects.

They have three main properties:

  1. Normalising effect: they help the body to regain balance, regardless of whether the stressful condition has resulted in over- or under-regulation.
  2. Non-specific effect: they support a wide range of different systems in the body, rather than targeting a single organ or organ system.
  3. Minimal adverse effect: Adaptogens generally have few side effects and are considered safe for long-term use.

Adaptogenic plants include ginseng, ashwagandha and rhodiola. These are often used by people to improve fatigue, anxiety, stress and physical performance.

Varieties, types and effectiveness of ginseng

There are many types of ginseng in the world, but they have different academic names and ingredients. For example: Korean ginseng - Panax CA Mayer, Chinese ginseng - Panax Notoginseng FH Chen, American ginseng - Panax Quinquefolius
Panaquino Quinquinquina, Panaquina pineapple, etc.

According to many classic medical books, Korean panax ginseng is the most valuable and effective of them all. This can't be a coincidence, and it isn't: world-class methods for processing ginseng have been developed in Korea, giving rise to white ginseng, red ginseng, black ginseng, fermented ginseng and enzyme ginseng.

Ginseng, known in Korea only as Panax Ginseng, contains 32 types of saponins*, making it the clear leader among ginsengs: it has a very high proportion of medicinal ingredients.

For comparison, let's look at the amount of active ingredients in each ginseng species:

Varieties of ginseng, types of ginseng

*Saponin: a surfactant consisting of a water-soluble molecule and a water-insoluble molecule, often glycoside-like, which forms a foam when shaken with water. It helps to dissolve fat-soluble oils in water (the so-called emulsifying effect). Many manufacturers claim the saponin content as ginsenoside!!!

Red ginseng or black? Extract, tea or ginseng root, capsule or ampoule?

When we say ginseng, most people think of a herb that has been grown on the Korean peninsula for centuries. Well, that's partly true: the plant is the same, but it can be used in so many different ways.

  • Ginseng ampoule: a little ginseng powder, water, honey and you're done. Typically Chinese, inexpensive and with extremely minimal active ingredient, it's a practical placebo.
  • Ginseng Capsules. There are probably the most varieties. There are many manufacturers, again the key is how many years old the ginseng is in the capsule and where the ginseng was grown. A product made from 6 year old ginseng cannot be cheap, as it takes 6 years of hard work, but that is how long it takes for the right amount of active ingredient to develop. Look for capsules made in South Korea here too. E.g. BTGin capsules.
  • Ginseng extract. The main difference between them is the composition or quantity of the active ingredient and the manufacturing technology used. These are products made exclusively from 6 year old plants, typically manufactured in South Korea and they look expensive compared to the average ginseng product, in fact cheap ginseng products in the 1000-5000 ft category are expensive because they do not contain enough of the active ingredient in fact they act as a placebo.
  • Ginseng tea: Very popular in Asia typically in the winter time the ginseng roots are steeped and consumed as such. Here we are also looking for the one made from the 6 year old plant!

Royal RG300: Very strong for depression, fatigue (e.g. depression) or specially made for cancer patients in the hope of a faster recovery after chemotherapy and radiotherapy.

Ginseng generations and ginseng active ingredients

To date, researchers have reported nearly 200 different types of ginsenosides (the active ingredient in ginseng root). One of these is Rg3, which can be considered a key ginsenoside as it can solve a number of problems if consumed in the right amounts. These include fatigue ( research here and here), cardiovascular problems (more info here), blood pressure problems (more info here), potency problems (research here), blood sugar problems (research here), memory problems (research here), therapeutic treatment of different types of cancer, also high levels of rg3 ginsenoside containing formulations such as Royal RG3 are used effectively.

    1. In South Korea, ginseng grown for 6 years is harvested and then dried. The dried 6 year old ginseng root (1st generation ginseng in terms of technological development) does not yet contain Rg3 ginsenoside.
    2. After steaming once, it turns red (2nd generation) and already contains Rg3 ginsenoside, which is how red ginseng is made.
    3. After steaming nine times, the black ginseng root (3rd generation) will have nearly double the amount of the active ingredient Rg3 ginsenoside than red ginseng.
    4. In order to allow the ginsenoside active ingredient to be even better absorbed by the human body, the fermentation process is used (4th generation). fermented ginseng contains 2-8 times more Rg3 than the common red ginseng root (per gram).
    5. Enzymatic ginseng is the 5th generation ginseng. Enzyme technology converts ginsenosides into specific ginsenosides, multiplying the Rg3 and K compound, thus achieving even faster and better results. (Research conducted between 2015 and 2020 shows that K-compound is liver protective, anti-inflammatory, anti-cancer, anti-cancer, anti-aging/skin protective, anti-cancer, anti-aging/anti-aging, anti-cancer, anti-aging/anti-aging/anti-aging).

The effects of ginseng by generation

      *How much is the product?

If you find it particularly cheap, it has a low active ingredient content and therefore you can't really trust its effectiveness so it is not recommended.

In the leaflet or description of ginseng products, the weight of the product (e.g. capsule) is usually given mainly in milligrams - this means how much ginseng powder is in a capsule. BUT! They do not describe how much active ingredient is in this ground ginseng powder. In addition, they are typically made from young ginseng, so their absorption and potency is negligible. Think about this before you buy!

Then clearly Enzimes Fermented Red Ginseng or Black is the best choice or BTGin capsules?

Black ginseng has an active ingredient content of at least 6 mg/g, while Enzimes Fermented Red extracts contain at least 10 mg/gram, and BTGin Ginseng Saponin Plus 2 capsules contain 30 mg/g ginsenoside and 5 mg/ K-compound (Enzymatic ginseng).

Whichever extract you choose, you really can't miss. The processing and steaming of ginseng root changes the composition of the active ingredients (ginsenosides). This is the main difference. The more active ingredients in a ginseng product, the more it costs proportionally.

While red ginseng products are very common in Europe, black ginseng is already a rarity here, as is Enzimes Fermented Red Ginseng or Saponin Ginseng Capsules

But not for us, we import some of the highest quality black ginseng and red ginseng extract and capsules made with 5th generation enzyme technology, straight from South Korea!

      Black Ginseng

Geumsani ginseng - the king of black ginseng

The black ginseng we use comes from Geumsan province, a small village in Namibia where it has been cultivated for centuries. This is the first place where ginseng was actually grown, and now they have mastered the secrets of growing the best quality plants, so they offer very high quality ginseng.

      BTGin Korean Ginseng Capsules:

These capsules are now 4th and 5th generation ginseng developments (Black Ginseng was the 3rd generation). Due to the technology, these ginseng products have the highest absorption rate and active ingredient content.

They are made from 6 year old ginseng root using the latest technology, so their effect and active ingredient content rivals that of extracts, and Saponin Plus Ginseng Capsules - Extra Strong is currently our highest active ingredient product and in my experience has the most intense effect.

Saponin ginseng capsules - extra strong

      Enzimes Fermented Red Ginseng Extract

South Korea's top red ginseng extract also made with 5th generation technology. Thus guaranteeing better absorption compared to traditional extracts. For more information about the product, click here!

The origins of ginseng cultivation are also associated with a Korean legend:

A young man named Kang, who lived about 1500 years ago, lost his father early in life and his mother was dying. He prayed for his mother's recovery in a mountain cave. Afterwards, a god appeared to him in a dream and told him to find a plant with three red berries on a red rock on the mountain and cook it for his mother. After Kang awoke from the dream, he went to the red rock, where he indeed found a plant with three red berries. He picked it, boiled it and gave it to his mother, who was miraculously cured. Kang then planted the seeds of the plant in the village, becoming the first person to grow ginseng artificially.

Whether the legend is true or not is unknown after all these years, but the story illustrates the power that Koreans attribute to ginseng.

Well, it may not be a miracle cure, although the concept of a miracle is relative. What is certain is that today, in the modern age, ginseng can be a solution to many different problems, and not necessarily just physical ailments. In developed countries, for example, stress is a widespread disease and is responsible for many health problems, but regular consumption of ginseng can also reduce stress levels.

This is due to the fact, as described above, that ginseng is one of the so-called adaptogenic herbs. This means that it is able to help the body to return to normal as quickly as possible after a stressful event. They are therefore an excellent choice for athletes, for example, who put their bodies under severe physical stress during training and competition.

The same of course applies to everyday life, both for physical and mental stress.

      Exporter of black ginseng

The province of Geumsan itself is quite fabulous - if we go by that, even the story above could be true. 71.5% of its territory is covered by mountains, and the Geumang River, also known as the 'Silk River', runs through the area.

It is as if this is the "chosen" place to create South Korea's largest ginseng producing area. Geumsan produces large quantities of high quality raw ginseng.

The site of black ginseng in South Korea

It has the largest number of ginseng processors in the country, with 375 in total. The people here know the special technology for making black ginseng, so the best quality black ginseng is produced from the province.

      Best quality ginseng guaranteed

By now, Geumsan province has 1500 years of experience in ginseng cultivation, so they have had time to perfect the technique.

The plants grown here are GAP certified, which guarantees that the ginseng is grown and processed in the safest possible way - among other things, the amount of chemicals, foreign substances and microbes in the process is controlled.

The Geumsan black ginseng 'Geumheuk' uses an RFID system that enables radio frequency identification, so that the quantity of chemicals used, the quality and quantity of soil and water can be tracked from the beginning of cultivation, meaning that the whole process can be controlled from start to finish.

We import this ginseng, direct from Geumsan, so you get the best quality ginseng!

      What makes black ginseng unique?

Black ginseng, as already mentioned, contains a minimum of 6 mg/g of active ingredient. It is produced from raw ginseng by steaming and drying it nine times. It is very difficult to obtain in Europe, we import it directly from Korea, from a reliable partner.

Black ginseng is produced by a process that rearranges the ratio of ginsenoside Rg3, Rg5, Rk1 active ingredients in ginseng.

      What does this mean?

Black ginseng contains nearly twice as much Rg3 ginsenoside active ingredient compared to the average red ginseng (not the ones we have). This makes it significantly more effective and can help with a range of problems.

Correction. The difference lies mainly in absorption.

      Black Ginseng

The effects are very widely known, here are the most typical examples or what is ginseng good for?

      • Immune boost: there is a constant need to strengthen the immune system. There are pathogens all around us, and it is up to our body's defences to deal with them. Research has shown that ginseng extract can also produce antimicrobial compounds in the human body and stimulate cellular function to boost immunity. This can come in handy even if you're perfectly healthy, as you never know when you might come down with a cold or a serious viral or bacterial infection. And if you have an existing chronic illness, strengthening your immune system can be key!
      • Improving blood circulation: cardiovascular problems affect a lot of people in Hungary, they are a widespread disease. They include high blood pressure, arrhythmia, atherosclerosis, and many more. Black ginseng cannot help with everything, but there are many things it can help with, such as normalising blood pressure (raising low blood pressure, lowering high blood pressure) - naturally, without drugs!

      • Eliminate fatigue: ever-present, chronic fatigue is not an uncommon phenomenon in today's fast-paced world. Everyone is on the go, with little time for rest and relaxation. Black ginseng's invigorating effects can help reduce the de-concentration caused by fatigue, leaving you fitter, fresher and more productive in all areas of life. If you've always been envious of those who can spin a thousand wheels every day of the week, you might just have discovered their secret!

      • Blood sugar control: like cardiovascular problems, diabetes is a common problem in the population. Researchers at the University of Maryland concluded in an experiment that people with type 2 diabetes who consumed black ginseng before drinking a sugary drink had lower blood sugar levels when measured at the end of the process than those who did not take ginseng. Ginseng can be particularly effective if you don't yet have diabetes but are showing signs of it - prevention is the best defence! However, even if the disease is already active, it is still beneficial and should not be taken unnecessarily.

      • Improved physical fitness: everyone feels like a shadow of their former self, unable to achieve the level and results they expect. This is especially true if you used to exercise regularly but stopped for whatever reason. Black ginseng, on the other hand, can boost your physical fitness - of course, you need to do this yourself, the extract alone won't work wonders, but it can help you get into the condition you want sooner.

      • Anti-ageing effects: no one wants to age, but the iron teeth of time will unfortunately take their toll on everyone, inside and out. But it doesn't matter how soon, how noticeably, how visibly. Black ginseng helps delay ageing, both the external aspects and the internal. It can help you maintain a youthful appearance for longer, but also keep you fit and energetic for longer.

      • Fat burning: the effects of ginseng on women are not as high a priority as potency enhancement for men, but they do have beneficial effects for women in a number of areas. For example, they help burn fat, which is great for overweight men, but let's face it, it's mostly the ladies who are more concerned with their weight. As well as promoting fat burning, black ginseng reduces appetite and boosts metabolism: a trio that makes it incredibly effective in helping people lose weight. So, if you're looking to shed a few extra pounds, it's worth making real Korean black ginseng part of your everyday routine!

      • Anti-inflammatory effects: our lives are often complicated by minor or major inflammatory processes, which can be quite painful. The active ingredient in ginseng is very successful in inhibiting inflammatory processes, and can bring about a significant improvement in a short time. This has been confirmed by several Korean trials. Therefore, it is recommended to consume black ginseng for any inflammatory disease, because even if it cannot completely cure the affected area, it can certainly bring about a significant improvement.

      • Increasing brain activity: have you ever been in a situation where you really needed to concentrate but couldn't? Perhaps you experience this a little too often? Then black ginseng could be your best friend, as it stimulates brain activity, thereby improving concentration and memory. Research in South Korea has shown this to be true to the extent that Alzheimer's sufferers have seen significant improvements, which have persisted for months afterwards, and only after prolonged withdrawal do patients recover. This suggests that ginseng may have a major role to play in the treatment of Alzheimer's disease in the future - although this will require a number of studies.

      • Sports activity, performance enhancers: Korean ginseng tea is very commonly consumed by athletes and has been reported to have very good efficacy.

If you look at the list more closely, there are a lot of problems that are very common in older age, but often also in middle age, such as circulatory problems, weakened immune system, constant fatigue, weakness, deterioration of brain function.

One or two of these points affect everyone. We just don't usually take them seriously because "it comes with age".

How many times have you heard people in their 40s and 50s say they have a bit of high blood pressure, but that's OK, it's normal at that age? Do you think so yourself? How many people think that it's only natural to be tired all the time because they can't keep up the pace they did when they were 20? We also think it's normal that our brains don't work as well, our immune systems aren't as strong and we're physically weaker. We resign ourselves to it because "that's the way life is".

If we didn't accept it, if we did something about it, we could keep our health and physical vigour for much longer!

Very little is said about preventing problems or treating the first mild symptoms. But the sooner we act, the better chance we have of stopping or significantly slowing down the processes that can lead to our decline. Even without medication, using natural methods!

If you're reluctant to take medication, try natural remedies - ginseng can help with many 'age-related' problems!

...and often things you wouldn't even think of!

The above is a nice list, but it is far from exhaustive of everything that black ginseng can influence.

In fact, there are some effects we are not always aware of - we are surprised when we get feedback from our customers.

      Panax Ginseng reviews:

My bleeding has stopped - Dominik

"For almost two weeks now, I have been consuming a small spoonful of the black ginseng I bought from you in a double jar every morning. As I wrote earlier in my Facebook Messenger message, the packaging, the product's appearance and its message give the impression of an absolutely premium quality product, which is fully confirmed by its physiological effects and my experience so far.

My long-standing bleeding gums have almost completely disappeared, probably due to the ginseng, because everything I have tried so far has not been successful. I am also more energetic, although I have not yet made any major breakthroughs in this area, but my mental functions have undoubtedly improved, and I am 27 years old, but it has already given me a boost in just these few weeks.

The positive side effects are also undoubtedly felt in the area of sexual functions, especially sex drive. Even after a day that has been both mentally and physically exhausting, sexual desire and stamina are definitely at a high level.

I have read the recently published, detailed study in Hungarian about the proven effects, and I thank you for this description on behalf of other consumers. It is a demanding, detailed and professionally complete compilation, especially in Hungarian."

      Adrenal insufficiency - Szilvi T.

"I tried the red ginseng at the end of August, increasing the amount in very small doses. Since the effect was building up day by day, but after a week I felt the noticeable difference in my condition, I ordered the black ginseng next time.

As a bedridden patient, the low cortisol levels made it very difficult to get up in the afternoon and in the evening I had to strongly consider every movement. With black ginseng, I had a strong improvement in two months, and getting up in the evening was not such a problem. An infection, weight loss, unfortunately completely set me back in November, but again this ginseng is helping me to recover. I have used ginseng before for its adaptogenicity to my hormone system, but ginseng tea has been able to give me some energy for maybe 2 hours lately, the ampoule has made me sick with food sensitivities. This extract has not caused any problems, just an improvement in my condition.

I would recommend it to everyone for endocrine disorders based on my previous knowledge, medical consultation and experience."

My rashes have disappeared - Mr Horváth

"I am buying black ginseng for the umpteenth time and in addition to the usual positive effects, it has solved a problem that has existed for 10 years. For about 10-11 years I have been getting rashes on my skin, mainly on my hands, continuously at certain intervals. It is extremely agonizing as I have been scraping them practically to the flesh with blood. I am happy to report that since I started taking black ginseng extract these rashes have become less frequent at first and then completely disappeared. Thank you Black Ginseng. I also think it is important to point out that Évike and Balázs have always been extremely helpful on the phone, because I do order by phone in this modern world. Good health!"

Such "surprise improvements" are possible because we are not all the same and our bodies do not work in the same way. So, of course, it's also possible that the noticeable effects of black ginseng will be different for different people. You may well experience improvements of a kind you didn't expect!

6-year-old ginseng and sex - does it really even work for that?

      Ginseng effects on men

Ginseng is very much known as a potency booster. It does indeed have an effect on sexual activity, namely by stimulating blood circulation and boosting testosterone production. In addition, the Rg3 ginsenoside found in black ginseng and BTGin capsules is a natural aphrodisiac that also brings about desire.

      Ginseng effects on women

It is somewhat unfair, however, that very many people only know that ginseng is an effective potency booster. Of course, this is important, but the effect of ginseng on women is not negligible either: as mentioned above, it has a stimulating effect , which is also felt by the fairer sex. A diminished libido can be restored if you regularly consume black ginseng!

It is also less well known that ginseng can also help women who are going through menopause, but it does: it reduces the unpleasant symptoms of manopause, thus significantly improving the quality of life in everyday life.

      How can ginseng work?

We have already mentioned Rg3 ginsenoside, one of the main active ingredients in high-quality ginseng grown in South Korea. To achieve the best efficacy, we use a plant that is 6 years old. This is when the active ingredient content of the plant reaches a peak that is already well utilized by the body. However, even then, a large quantity is still needed:

It takes 7 kg of plant to make 1 kg of ginseng extract!

Moreover, the 6-year-old plant can only be harvested every 8 years, as the soil is left to rest for 2 years in between to ensure even better quality. This justifies the higher price of real, premium quality panax ginseng - but it is worth spending more because it is significantly more effective! Cheaper products contain such a minimal amount of the active ingredient that no real effect can be expected.

The 6-year-old plant is steamed a total of 9 times after harvesting to produce black ginseng.

You can feel the amazing effects of ginseng after just a few days, but to get the full effect you need to take it for at least 1 month!

      Active ingredients of Ginseng

How should you consume it? Uses of ginseng

It is recommended to take your daily dose of ginseng in the morning, but it's fine if you have a hectic day and don't have time to take it until the afternoon. However, it is not recommended to take it in the evening because of its tonic effect! Be careful not to exceed the recommended daily intake, as the active ingredient makes it a very cautious product!

Ginseng is available in many forms: powder, extract, tea, drink, and we also have ginseng coffee! Choose the one that suits you best!

You have several options for your intake:

      • in lukewarm tea
      • in juice
      • or on its own. If you feel very bitter, you can eat a spoonful of honey afterwards and drink water to neutralise the bitter taste.

There are no serious restrictions, find out what works best for you!

Ginseng side effects - Facts and misconceptions - what many people know wrong about the expected effects of ginseng

On both the skeptic and pro-ginseng sides, there are misconceptions that arise from misinformation or misinterpretations of the effects of ginseng or the side effects of ginseng.

Here are the most common misconceptions:

      • Taking ginseng can trigger drugs. Over time, it may be possible, but it is certainly not advisable to immediately stop taking the medication prescribed by your doctor.
      • Ginseng can make the brain too active and therefore cause sleep disturbance. Not true! Although it does stimulate the brain, it also has a good effect on sleep - you can expect a deeper sleep while taking it.
      • Ginseng is like coffee. Many people think that because it's stimulating, it works like coffee: if I'm tired, I take a little more and that's it. That's not true! It's important to take ginseng continuously, without interruptions or fluctuations. The recommended daily amount should not be exceeded, and ginseng will not give you a sudden rush like coffee.
      • Cheap capsules are just as good as the more expensive types. We have already touched on this: unfortunately, these products do not contain even a fraction of the amount of active ingredient as 100% ginseng extracts or BTGin capsules. Although they are more expensive, they are really effective, whereas you can't expect much from penny ginseng because they hardly contain any active ingredient. If you look at it this way, cheap preparations are the expensive ones as they will have no effect.
      • It is "just" a herb, so you can take as much as you want. This is not true precisely because of the active ingredient: like medicines, preparations containing real active ingredients should not be overdosed! Always take the prescribed amount!

      Natural health care with ginseng

6-year-old ginseng therefore has many positive effects on the functioning of our body. It is recommended for almost anyone who is an adult, not pregnant or breastfeeding.

      You can use it if:

      • you want to be more energetic
      • you want to feel better in general
      • you want to have a more active sex life
      • lose weight more effectively
      • have a specific health problem and want to make a big improvement

If you use ginseng carefully and follow the dosage, you don't have to worry about side effects - a great solution for natural health maintenance!

Try it and see for yourself how effective ginseng is!
