Main criteria for buying
Let's take a look at the key criteria for choosing a Korean red ginseng capsule:
- Place of origin: always look at the origin of the product, the ginseng root with the highest active ingredient content is certainly grown in South Korea. The climatic conditions here are the most optimal for the plant. If a product is labelled as Korean or panax ginseng, it is by no means certain that it originates from South Korea (it could be grown in China). The packaging should state the origin.

- Age of ginseng root. Check this every time, it is one of the most important criteria.

- What is the active ingredient content in 1 gram: This is the best place to take your customers to the forest. Most manufacturers write on the product how much ginseng powder is in a capsule. That's fine, but how many mg of active ingredient/ginsenoside does 1 gram of ginseng root powder contain? All products are normally tested in the country where they are manufactured and the manufacturer has the test results. Our partners in South Korea always send us these official documents. Of course, this is just worming, it's enough to know that it's made from a 6-year-old plant.
- Confusing saponin with ginsenoside: Someone may list the active ingredient in a capsule as "80 mg/g ginsenoside (saponin) content", which is a wonderful number, but ginsenoside and saponin are not the same! The ginsenoside is the active ingredient, the saponin is the compound that facilitates the absorption of the active ingredient. The higher number is the saponin content and they like to label this number as ginsenoside because it looks better.
- The price of the product. Products made from a 6 year old plant, made in South Korea, with the right active ingredient content, and that are clinically proven to help you live a healthy lifestyle, unfortunately you won't be able to buy them for a few thousand forints. An average vitamin is easily available for a few thousand forints and is probably effective, but this is not possible with ginseng.
- The capsules must be natural and of plant origin, otherwise they cannot be marketed in a number of EU member states, e.g. France.
- The capsule should notcontain any preservatives or additives other than ginseng.
If the products have these properties and the information is not misleading, you can add them to your shopping basket. However, dietary supplement ginseng capsules that do not have the above information available, do not know, do not want to tell you the information, or are misleading, are in our opinion NOT RECOMMENDED.

Ginseng generations and ginseng active ingredients
To date, nearly 200 types of ginsenosides (the active ingredient in ginseng root) have been reported by researchers. One of these is Rg3, which can be considered a key ginsenoside as it can solve many problems when consumed in the right amounts. These include fatigue (research here and here), cardiovascular problems (more info here), blood pressure problems (more info here), potency problems (research here), blood sugar problems (research here), memory problems (research here), etc.
- In South Korea, ginseng grown for 6 years is harvested and then dried. The dried 6 year old ginseng root (1st generation ginseng in terms of technological development) does not yet contain Rg3 ginsenoside.
- After steaming once, it turns red (2nd generation) and already contains Rg3 ginsenoside, which is how red ginseng is made.
- After steaming nine times, the black ginseng root (3rd generation) will have nearly double the amount of the active ingredient Rg3 ginsenoside than red ginseng.
- In order to allow the ginsenoside active ingredient to be even better absorbed by the human body, the fermentation process is used (4th generation). fermented ginseng contains 2-8 times more Rg3 than the common red ginseng root (per gram).
- Enzymatic ginseng is the 5th generation ginseng. Enzyme technology converts ginsenosides into specific ginsenosides, multiplying the Rg3 and K compound, thus achieving even faster and better results. (Research conducted between 2015 and 2020 shows that K-compound is liver-protective, anti-inflammatory, anti-cancer, anti-cancer, anti-vascular, anti-aging/skin-protective, anti-cancer, anti-aging/anti-aging, anti-cancer, anti-aging/anti-aging/anti-aging).

Looking for a cheaper but effective capsule!
This product is also made by BTGin, it is made from fermented Korean ginseng concentrated with Rg3 ginsenoside. Of course, this is also made from a 6 year old plant. The product is made using the latest research specifically focusing on Rg3 ginsenoside, so it contains 7x more active ingredients compared to the average red ginseng root made in South Korea, and 2x more active ingredients compared to a traditional red ginseng capsule (also made in South Korea). How is this possible? The answer is simple. The higher saponin content and fermentation process results in better absorption.
Rg3 > 2.5mg/g (This is only the Rg3 ginsenoside, because that's what the manufacturer focuses on!)
Saponin > 110mg/g
