High blood pressure and ginseng, the natural antidote

High blood pressure is a dangerous disease, yet there are many people who don't really pay much attention to it. Especially if it is asymptomatic and occurs after the age of 50. Because "it's nothing to do with me" and "it comes with age". But even if you don't experience symptoms every day, higher blood pressure can still cause problems. And while it does come with age at some level, that's no reason not to deal with it. But regular consumption of Korean ginseng can be a natural way to help keep blood pressure at a healthy level, even in old age.

Symptoms of high blood pressure

The majority of people think they have signs of high blood pressure for some reason, you can definitely feel it if you have a problem. Unfortunately, this is not entirely true. The reality is that hypertension can have symptoms, but they don't necessarily come out, and the general truth is that if you have noticeable signs, you're already in a pretty bad way.

It is common for high blood pressure to be discovered accidentally, through a routine check-up: for example, if you want to renew your driving licence, you have to go for a medical check-up. In addition to regular blood pressure checks, it is also worth including ginseng in your daily routine, which can help to stabilise blood pressure in the long term.

What is the ideal blood pressure and why is it bad if it is high?

Normal blood pressure is 120-129/70-79 mmHg between the ages of 18 and 65, and 130-139/70-79 mmHg over the age of 65. If either the systolic (first) or diastolic (second) value is higher than this, we are talking about high blood pressure, which of course has degrees.

The active substances in 6-year-old ginseng, such as Rg3 ginsenoside, can help to maintain blood pressure at a healthy level, especially to reduce systolic blood pressure, which is often elevated due to stress, lack of exercise or poor diet.

Complications of high blood pressure

Complications of high blood pressure

The dangers of high blood pressure are reflected in the fact that it is also known as the 'silent killer': it damages the body without us even noticing it is there.

When your blood pressure is high, your blood vessels are constantly being damaged. It causes problems mainly in the walls of blood vessels, as atherosclerosis develops throughout the body. The blood supply to the brain, kidneys, heart and eyes can be impaired, which impairs the functioning of these organs. The more serious consequences include strokes, strokes, heart attacks, kidney failure, impaired vision and even blindness. And all this without even noticing the high blood pressure! Ginseng can be an effective way to support the elasticity of blood vessels, helping to prevent serious complications.

How do you feel when you have high blood pressure?

It may be nothing, but it may also be some seemingly trivial discomforts that we don't give too much importance to and just ignore.

High blood pressure can take the form of headaches, from dull aches, throbbing temporal headaches to loss of concentration and dizziness. However, the real cause of the problem may remain hidden for a long time, both because the symptoms are not specific and because they do not seem serious enough to seek medical attention. For all these reasons, we tend to ignore it and use painkillers to dull the unpleasant symptoms. This is a problem because blood pressure is not a toy: it's like a time bomb that can go off at any time. However, ginseng can provide ongoing support and help relieve any unpleasant symptoms before they lead to more serious problems.

High blood pressure and headaches

And let us stress again: there may not be symptoms. High blood pressure is insidious, it can remain hidden for years if not checked periodically. It may be worthwhile to take a random blood pressure check when you are younger, but after the age of 40, it is mandatory to check it regularly! That way, if a problem develops, we can catch it in time. Korean ginseng can be particularly effective in maintaining the elasticity of blood vessel walls and normalising blood pressure, thus reducing the risk of headaches caused by high blood pressure.

High blood pressure in old age

Although blood pressure does rise with age, which is normal, high blood pressure should not be taken for granted: lowering blood pressure is very important! Hypertension can and should be controlled and, as with most health problems, the best prevention is prevention. If we start to monitor our blood pressure early enough, we can control it naturally, without medication. Ginseng can also be an excellent solution for the elderly, as it helps to regulate blood pressure naturally and can prevent serious cardiovascular problems.

The development of high blood pressure has many lifestyle implications. These include obesity, smoking, regular alcohol consumption, dietary habits and a sedentary lifestyle. You can do a lot to prevent it by just taking regular exercise, eating healthily and avoiding addictions. But if you want to do more, it is also possible to reduce blood pressure naturally, for example by taking high potency Korean ginseng.

The effects of ginseng on blood pressure

Black Ginseng - a remedy for high blood pressure

Korean researchers studied the effects of ginseng on blood pressure and blood vessels in the late 1990s. Initially, they monitored the systolic blood pressure and heart rate of animals. The research proved that Korean ginseng saponin (100mg/kg) reduced systolic blood pressure. This occurs because ginseng promotes the production of nitric oxide, which has vasodilator effects.

In 2016, a scientific study in South Korea investigated the effect of one of the active ingredients in ginseng, Rg3 ginsenoside. The results show that Korean ginseng has a beneficial effect on blood pressure regulation, so it can help to control blood pressure naturally.

Another study in Korea in 2016 involved a double-blind, placebo-controlled trial (a trial in which neither the patient nor the doctor knows whether the subject was given a drug containing the active ingredient or a placebo without the active ingredient.) Participants consumed 10 capsules containing 5g of red ginseng or placebo per day. After 12 weeks, participants who had consumed red ginseng for 6 years experienced a decrease in blood pressure (systolic and diastolic blood pressure showed an average decrease of 6.5 and 5.0 mm Hg, respectively).

It is very important to note that all the studies used a 6-year-old ginseng plant with a high active ingredient, grown in Korea! Ginseng needs 6 years to produce the maximum active ingredient in the plant. So, in vain many people try to buy ginseng cheaply in capsule or ampoule form, these products (2-5 thousand forints) are practically a placebo because they have so little active ingredient! You can read why this is important here!

In another Korean clinical trial, the effects of 8 weeks of ginseng consumption (4.5 g/day) were observed in participants with 24-hour ambulatory blood pressure monitoring. In 26 participants with hypertension (high blood pressure), 24-hour mean systolic blood pressure was significantly reduced (p = 0.03), while diastolic blood pressure showed a decrease (p = 0.17). Blood pressure reductions were observed during the daytime (8 am to 6 pm) and at dawn (5 am to 7 am).

Reducing high blood pressure naturally with ginseng

From all of these experiments, the effect of ginseng on blood pressure is clear: people with hypertension can successfully lower their blood pressure, which can mean a lot for their health!

Korean red ginseng (Panax ginseng), a 6-year-old plant, has been shown to help make blood vessels more elastic, thus regulating blood pressure. Black ginseng can be even more effective at regulating blood pressure, as it contains nearly 2 times more Rg3 than the average red ginseng (not compared to the red ginseng you can buy in our stores).

There are several possible causes of high blood pressure. Most often it is caused by changes in the vascular walls (calcification, vasoconstriction, peripheral vascular disease), in other cases by central (brain) mechanisms. It is important to note that the herb ginseng can help hypertension if it is caused by a lesion of the vascular walls. Ginseng promotes the production of nitric oxide, which has a vasodilator effect. Cardiovascular diseases in Hungary

Did you know that cardiovascular diseases are the cause of most deaths in Hungary?

This is largely due to a less than exemplary lifestyle, but also because many people don't even know they have a circulatory problem - such as high blood pressure. Or they know, but they downplay it because they don't feel the weight of it, so they don't do anything about it.

By taking care of your blood pressure and doing all you can to prevent hypertension, you can reduce your risk of these diseases too. If your blood pressure is already elevated compared to normal, ginseng can still be of good use - lowering blood pressure at home can help you avoid taking medication or reduce your dose. Reducing high blood pressure with herbs can be very effective if you use the right plant with the right amount of active ingredients - for example, 6-year-old red or black ginseng extracts.
