The Punggi Premium Goods Agricultural Cooperative has been growing ginseng at the foot of Mount Sobaek, famous for its clean water and fresh air, since 1995. The Korean ginseng grown in the Punggi area for 6 years is of better quality than American Hwagisam or Chinese Jeonchilsam, due to the geographical and climatic conditions. As a result of many years of research and development, only premium quality products are available. Almost from the beginning, Punggi ginseng products have been exported to Japan, known for its strict regulations, and now to the United States, China, Taiwan and Europe. The factory is also HACCP, GMP and ISO22000 certified. The Korean GMP programme regulates the production of the products and ensures product traceability. This guarantees a strong restriction on the use of pesticides (insecticides and bactericides) and fertilizers, as well as the quality of the crops.
